BODY OF LIGHT

Description

Body of Light is our first unit in Live Performer Series. The module allows to create synergy between music and light objects. Focus object we choose is a Laser, controlled by the incoming signals from Eurorack system, synchronizing not just in color, hue, saturation, but also exposing the sound shape. Below you can see some details on the first Prototype that is currently in progress. Front panel at the moment has a generic face, the final product will be revealed in closest future. The unit has ILDA and DMX outputs that allow communication between sound in Eurorack and light objects such as laser, theatrical lights, stroboscopes, LEDs, any type of light objects with DMX and ILDA input controls. The unit currently undergoes second revision, this is not the final configuration. However you can already see the significant direction the unit is taking.

History

In the world of Eurorack, Laser control was researched previously by known brands such as LZX Industries, 1010Music Laser Box or Radiator by Neon Captain. We were deeply inspired and intrigued by the life Light and Image brings to any performance, and decided to dedicate this type of idea  as our entry point to Live Performance Series. However we didn't want to stop on lasers and decided to explore possibility to control other light objects, associated with performing. We added DMX output for that reason, and changed controlled parameters, adding values as Hue, Brightness and Saturation. Besides that we added envelope follower that allows audio signal directly communicate with light parameters.

Prototype 1

Currently, Prototype 1 is tested in our lab, undergoing double check of parameters, adjustments and soon to be tested in Performance condition. After finalizing and updating, we will reveal the final version of Body Of Light. Once ready, manuals, detailed information and better quality photos/videos, suggestions and recommendations, ordering links etc will be published. Soon - more! Until then here are few fragments from the testing lab:
